Computer Cleaning Service

The computer cleaning service is by far the most common request that we get from our office based customers, and is the basis upon which most of our cleaning programs are designed.
This service has 3 different options for you to choose from including our 'essentials clean' (£), our most popular 'standard clean' (££), and our 'full internal clean' (£££). Each option offers something slightly different to suit varying requirements and budgets.

Standard Computer Clean (££)

This is ideally suited to the standard office environment due to the fact that most IT and office equipment in this type of cool, clean environment is not usually subjected to very dusty and dirty conditions, and generally only requires internal cleaning after a couple of years. Multi-user equipment such as call centre equipment and equipment in schools and universities is also suited to this type of service and should be cleaned on a more regular basis due to the increased risks of cross-contamination between users.

The standard clean is carried out on desktop machines (or workstations with laptops and docking stations that use a keyboard and mouse), and each unit takes around 10 minutes to clean thoroughly. If you already use this kind of service and your current provider doesn’t take around this long to complete a unit, you should be looking at why this is the case. We have mentioned previously on this web-site that we provide more than a basic wipe-over as this is what is required to clean and sanitise the equipment properly.

Our standard computer cleans are carried out and costed per unit, and the servicing of a single unit includes:

Keyboard
A thorough clean of the keyboard. Starting with an air-dust/vac to remove all of the debris under the keys, then cleaning and sanitising all the keys and external surfaces.

Mouse
All of the external surfaces, grooves and rollers are cleaned and sanitised. On an optical mouse the sensor is cleaned whilst on a roller-ball style mouse the ball is removed and cleaned as well as the rollers by removing the build up of dirt.

Monitor/Screen
We clean all types of monitor (extra screens may be chargeable) whether they are TFT monitors, Plasma screens or even traditional style CRTs. The monitor housing is externally cleaned and sanitised and then the screen is cleaned with the appropriate material.

Base Unit
When cleaning desktop computers we clean and sanitise the external surfaces of the base unit and clean the exterior part of the fan at the rear. For workstations with laptops and docking stations, these are included in the clean.

Essentials Computer Clean (£)

This is a more budget conscious option for those that don't want quite as in depth a clean as the standard clean provides.

It is based on a similar service to the standard computer clean as detailed above, but doesn't include cleaning and disinfecting the monitor housing, or the base unit/docking station. All the essentials are included (hence the name!) which basically means the keyboard, mouse and screen only.

Full Internal Computer Clean (£££)

The full internal computer clean option is our most in depth clean. This includes all of the processes detailed in the standard clean, and adds in an internal clean of the base unit itself.
The full clean can only be carried out on desktop machines, due to the more complicated nature and warranty issues with laptops. Each unit that is to undergo a full clean takes between 30 and 40 minutes to complete and clean thoroughly.

This type of clean is ideally suited to equipment that tends to be in a more harsh environment and is exposed to higher levels of dust and dirt, or equipment in places where hygiene is of the utmost importance. Examples of the type of business that this would apply to are garages, factories and warehouses, and also places like hospitals, dental surgeries and medical practices. Equipment that is operated under harsh conditions can experience a build up of dust and dirt inside the main unit that is far greater than that of equipment used in a standard environment. This can lead to the motherboard and processor being coated in a thick layer of dust and dirt that subsequently causes overheating and ultimately failure. Using this service should prevent this premature failure and could add years on to the life of your equipment.

During the full clean we open up the computer housing, taking precautions against electrostatic discharge, and using our special anti-static vac amongst other equipment, remove all the dust and debris from the motherboard, processor, fans and other internal surfaces before cleaning and sanitising the external surfaces of the main unit.
